Pedagogical practice and creative teaching
As an Artist-Teacher, my classroom philosophy is rooted in the belief that advanced technical mastery and critical contextual awareness should be accessible to all learners. I translate high-level conceptual frameworks from my doctoral research, and life as an artist/designer and illustrator, into highly structured, engaging, and diagnostic practical studio sessions.
Studio Workstations & Delivery Specialisms:
- Technical Artistry: Oil and acrylic painting mechanics, analytical drawing, illustration, and multi-media studio safety.
- Contextual Studies: Art history and contemporary art forms, critical analysis, postmodernism, alter modernism and the transformative mechanics of social satire in art.
- Portfolio Mentorship: Preparing learners for higher education transitions through rigorous portfolio curation, diagnostic critique, and sketch-book architecture.
